We couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the 2013 wedding season then at the beautiful grounds of Stones in the Yarra Valley, a same sex marriage celebrating a truly remarkable couple, Derek & Jason.
Flying back to Melbourne and bringing half of London with them, they ensured their family and Australian friends could share their celebration of a lifelong commitment. With a bridal party to rival most football teams their morning started amongst the tranquil surrounds of Harvest Farm in Healesville. The champagne flowed and the mercury started to rise for what was set to be one of the hottest days of the year.
As the cool change whipped through in the late afternoon, Derek and Jason shared their personalised vows, which were both hilarious and incredibly touching. Guests amused themselves with games of Bocce and Croquet, set up by Capote & Peachy whilst we whisked the boys off for a photo shoot with John Warren from Warren Photography. The whole event was styled beautifully with a sea of blue hydrangeas and candelabra magnificently arranged by Blooming Brides (Floral Stylists) and the hospitality of Vonnie and all the team at Stones was as always, perfection.
The boys donned their tap shoes and entertained us with a choreographed tap routine as their first dance, and The White Tree got everyone up on the dance floor. We feel very honoured to have shared this day with Derek & Jason. Their personalities compliment each other perfectly and we got a strong sense of how much they mean to all their friends and family. An amazing day with an amazing couple. Congratulations boys, we hope you all enjoy reliving the fun….
